Hi, recently sent the resume in and got an email back stating that I had been hired -- no testing -- yeah!! but just wondering how long it takes to get set up etc. "C" is apparently on vacation; however, this morning did get an e-mail from "P" asking the tech person to contact me. Not the greatest pay in the world; however, I can see or at least try to see "both sides of the coin," and if this is straight typing, not going to complain.

Hi, I work for America's Pride and did not even realize that they were hiring, as one of the bigger accounts started using voice recognition around 6-8 months ago and they asked us to cut back on hours until we could get more accounts? Anyway - set up is easy, can do in an hour or so. Training was very fast - an hour by phone. I was off QA in 2 weeks. Everyone is very helpful also. Very nice company to work for!

Thanks for the information. Apparently, D was on vacation for a few days and she did get me set up and installed, so now just have to wait for training. Everyone that I have talked to so far has been great!

I'm on that bigger account that went to VR a few months ago and am lucky if I make even $100 a week anymore. People were asked to cut back on hours because the work dried up and AFAIK America's Pride doesn't have any new contracts, hasn't had for 1 1/2 years I think.

And about a year and a half ago when we got those new contracts, we were told they weren't going to hire new people but the second they lost those contracts, we found out they DID hire new people and wanted us all to cut back so those new people could have work.

So I'm not real pleased to hear they're hiring. How could they possibly need more people? They don't have enough work for the people already there!

Well, all I did was submit a cover letter and my resume, and received an email back, stating that they felt I would be a good fit for the company and would I like to to work for them. They may not be hiring enmass and it could any other number of things, which I will not go into detail about here. I have been set up with the software and will train on Tuesday.

Yes, they even just said recently they have enough ppl and weren't going to hire, that ppl were just vacationing for summer or something. I hope this just covers nights or weekends. They are nice but not real communicative. Also, a lot of cherry picking goes on there and hope these new ppl won't. Usually when they start hiring, the work dries up real fast and everyone is asked to cut back.

I have been working today for almost 3 hours and I have not understood a word I have typed. I used to take such pride in my work and truly loved what I did for a living. On my "new" account this morning I have typed report after report and guessed my way through the entire report or left a massive amount of blanks. I'm surprised there is no thread about the America's Pride firings last Friday. I've been with them for years, and for nearly two have been unable to get any decent work. I've worked at America's Pride since last spring so I never went through a holiday season with them before. Work started drying up around Thanksgiving, and over the last few weeks, has been almost nonexistent. I am currently making less than $10/day, sitting here for hours, watching as not a single job on my accounts come in. Lately, no jobs for ANY account come in. Is this usual for this time of the year? internet search engine. I have found that Google is causing serious slow down of the computer since upgrading to 6.1 and wondering if this could be the culprit of the problems with 6.1 as when I switched from Google to other search engines I am not having the slow DQS 6.1 problem. With FTR still in play and all the other requirements made of us highly-paid MTs, when ASR 4 cpl goes into effect in February, does that mean 3 cpl would still be deducted if our "performance" had to be improved? Would that mean 1 cpl or, as an example, if an MT produced 1000 ASR lines in one day, would that MT make $10 for a day's work? TIA ...

As I just got of a dictation with variable volumes and of course the eventual hang up with the loud dial tone, seems to me we could make a real good case for a worker's comp hearing loss problem. Not so much to collect now but to make an argument that they need to fix the volume on the system and maybe actually train the doctors to dictate correctly or be liable for lawsuits before we all go deaf. Too late for me, the ringing is staggering at this point. Thoughts anyone ...
