1. It sucks to lose a job, period. At least 10 million people have gone thru the process in the recent past and none of them liked it.
2. No matter how it was delivered, you would still be upset. I gty you a phone call would have gone this way...."Hello, I am XX from HR and I need to inform you blah blah blah..." Read from a script with no substantive answers due to today's legal environment and discrimination laws. Having had the news delivered to me this way in the past - it feels no better.
3. Have you ever switched jobs? Did you tell your employer you were going to go look around and think about moving to another company or competitor. People everyday go on interviews without their current employer knowing about it for obvious reasons.
4. So I hear from some on this board that they should not have been let go? What socialist system should be adopted? Keep more people than are needed? For how long? How many? Should they keep 10 extra or 20 ? Do you really not remember the car industry where 1000's of people were paid to stay on w/out work and paid more than the market allowed.
5. One day you are working for the company, the next day you are trashing it. If it was always that bad, why are you surprised? One day you are rooting for people to grow the business, bring in new customers and create new volume - all of which is taken away from another business or taking away from MTs that are working in house. If you are making money and on a growing account - there is someone who is losing money and losing business. Thats capitalism.
