I mentioned it because as an MT I remember the rhetoric that transcription was never going to go away, they would always need MTs, blah, blah, blah. We all know how that ended. Coding has changed too, with more offshore companies and work not being done on site, that was unheard of a few years ago. AAPC and AHIMA haven't been very strong advocates for US residents. If you work in software development, you probably don't have to worry about your job going to someone in India.
