People are jaded and burned out because of how badly this - job has gone to hill over the years SM

Anyone telling you to get out now or it's not too late to choose a different career is correct. All you have to do is read this board, so many stories from so many MTs here who are telling the truth of how bad things are as far as working conditions and wages. Your chances of being hired are very slim because of so many experienced people applying that would be hired before you would.

A lady had a job posting here the other day, said she got over 100 resumes or inquiries. You would have no chance at all at that job with 100 experienced and knowledgeable people ahead of you.

There are still some cheerleaders here who tell you how wonderful medical transcription is and how much money they make hand over fist. If any of those are true, they are far and few between. As well as a couple people here trying to sell their transcription course to you.

There's lots of other options available for working at home. At least you have a better chance of making a decent living wage at those. Try legal transcription first, you could possibly do well with that. Or look on facebook for a group called "The Work At Home Hunt" has lots of ideas there for jobs.

Medical transcription is not a good option any longer. So many of us with experience will tell you that. Make life easier on yourself. Don't think you're going to make a good living at this job, don't listen to the cheerleaders. Find something else for working at home.
