You need to broaden your horizons a bit - Just because Posted: Apr 28th, 2022 - 2:22 pm In Reply to: THE IRS - DOES NOT CARE
you seem to believe the IRS doesn't care about this issue, the fact is they really actually do. They work closely with state and federal agencies to fight against this growing problem of worker misclassification.
Abuses like this don't just only happen in the MT industry. It's a growing problem happening in many other industries like construction, real estate, cleaning and janitorial services, home care, trucking and transportation, cable and internet services, car and taxi services, hospitality, home products installation, retail and Internet sales, media, manufacturing, staffing services, computer programming, security, government contracting, hotels/lodging, etc.
So, you see, this problem is hurting a lot of people in this country. While it's true that workplace abuses have always been an issue, this doesn't mean that workers who are being cheated out of their rightful pay and/or benefits should have to just shrug it off and take the losses as though it's no big deal.
Workers are fighting back through filing individual lawsuits or class action lawsuits to recover all that they're owed, and rightfully so!
