Based on having seen four or five accounts disappear out from under me in my career as a transcriptionist, I can tell you that hospitals don't tell the transcription companies months in advance that they are going to change transcription services. Of the three that I can remember specifically how they disappeared, one hospital gave two weeks notice, one said "this is our last day", and a third we only found out by me writing to the transcription company saying, "You know, nobody from the neurology office has dictated any work in 3 days," and when they checked, they had changed to a different service.
