People can't decide they are going to come back and haunt you. I don't believe in ghosts, but even if I did, I don't think the live person gets to decide they are going to become one after death.

She's laying a guilt trip on you. FYI: It's not so easy to put someone in a facility if they are deemed competent to make their own medical decisions.

I would suggest either ear plugs or plugging your ears with music. That's what I did when we had our MIL with us.
