state the cause of the layoffs as a direct consequence of the pandemic. Everyone across the country knows that hospitals have postponed elective surgeries and other procedures to accommodate for the surge in Covid-19 patients. This is probably the main factor for the sharp decline in MT work since around Feb through March and ongoing. That, and the fact that millions of people are staying at home and not visiting emergency rooms, doctor visits, etc., unless absolutely necessary. So why try to hide the obvious reason by stating the layoff is due to a business decision or restructuring. Such a joke! They're cheating people out of being able to claim the full UE benefits they deserve because of the major impact the coronavirus has caused the MT industry. The extended UE to 39 weeks and the extra compensation by the Fed govt, I think is warranted for MTs being laid off right now. Hopefully, the UE claims will be considered for the right reason.
