One minute of medical dictation (a doctor talking by himself at a steady pace) is about 10 lines of transcription.

So take $40 divide it by 60 minutes and you get $0.66 per minute. Then divide that by 10 and you get 6.7 CPL.

Don't know what you would be transcribing, but there it is.
