"We have been acquired by Nuance"

I have been an independent contractor lead MT with this company for 10 years. They informed me yesterday that the company sold out to Nuance and in a couple of months I will be without a job. They said that Nuance "may" hire me. My question is, how does that work exactly? Will I be put on the accounts that I am used to or will they place me wherever, IF they hire me? Where do I go from here?
