...if only a third of the current workforce knows what they are doing, and most of them slowly disappearing due to retirement or looking for better-paying options, and two-thirds are newbies for various reasons producing suboptimal to terrible quality work in spite of their good intentions, there will be no demand for US MTs, the Indians are even worse, and the whole system is eventually going to implode.

So it won't matter who is willing to work for pennies just to stay at home, the hospitals are going to find another way to deal with documentation that doesn't involve MTs at all anymore.

If any company is in the business of promoting the need for VR/MTs, they better sit up and take notice. Raise rates and try to hold onto the experienced MTs you have left because they are gold. Or find something else to sell.
