Working for Rev / CastingWords / prn work - MtinMI Posted: Nov 21st, 2018 - 5:48 pm
I have a regular MT job, but this time of year things start to slow down and I could really use a little extra income while it's slow or for times when the doctor I work for is on vacation and I need extra work. I have been looking at Rev or CastingWords and wondering if anyone works for these companies and let me know how you like it? It has to be something that I can do as available, not scheduled or require a certain number of hours committment as my regular job is sometimes really busy and I can't predict when it will be crazy, which is why I was looking at companies like these.
By reading testimonials and reviews about these companies, it sounds like people are fairly happy with the companies, but the pay, from what I can see, works out to minimum wage or even less. However, a lot of the reviews I have read have been people with no experience with transcribing, and I wonder if being experienced would make a difference or if it's just really hard to break that minimum wage level with these companies.
