Imedat is installing VDI soon. I hate the idea but no matter where you go these days you are going to run into this. I quit Nuance 5 years ago and have been haunted by them ever since with their outsourcing accounts to just about all MTSOs now. I weighed the options and have learned one thing. The devil you know is better than the devil you don't know. I know my accounts and work for decent people, so I am staying put but did purchase another computer to be used ONLY for work and not another thing. You can get a good computer that meets all of the requirements on Ebay. If you only need the tower, which most of us would, you can get good prices. Mine cost $154 and a VGA switch box was $30. I can now work using 1 monitor for 2 computers, switch back and forth, and keep my private information from being looked into. Otherwise, it means starting over with a new company, learning new accounts (which may be even worse), going through QA, and hoping your manager is decent. No thanks, I will stay where I am and hope for the best. The price of the equipment is just one more home office expense deduction since I am IC.
