My goal is to eliminate the middleman, i.e., MTSOs.
It's just getting ridiculous that we have the training, knowledge and skills for both editing and transcribing, yet we make pennies of what they're actually paid.
Now with Nuance subcontracting all accounts, there are two MTSOs taking cuts off those line rates.
MTs will never see an increase under these circumstances. The MTSOs provide us with nothing except a platform.
For me the solution is clear - either get my own accounts, work for an MTSO who isn't working with Nuance, or get completely out of this business.
