Compensation Question on Monitoring the System - unsure Posted: Aug 16th, 2018 - 10:10 am
I've been asked to monitor for STAT reports and enter necessary QT text into the system by a lady who is looking for an MT. She's paying a higher line rate, but should I ask for compensation to monitor the system all day for STATs as well?
I would be required to be present from 8 to 5 just to monitor. As well, there is not very much work as far as transcription, maybe less than an hour a day.
I also have another job to make up the lack of transcription, so I would be available anyway during the day, but I'm just not sure about being responsible for the monitoring and being present all day without compensation of some type.
Maybe I just answered my own question. Being available all day should equal some type of compensation above and beyond the hour of transcription?
