rotator cuff tear - I do not think you are crazy Posted: Aug 15th, 2018 - 4:14 am In Reply to: Thank you for your response - Alice
I live on a farm and am in incredible shape for 58 (recently took a job in a warehouse that is like construction labor and love it). I've had issues with my right shoulder for the past couple of years that I feared would make this new job impossible. Instead, all the lifting and carrying has strengthened the surrounding muscles and made it better. HOWEVER, weirdly enough, with all the heavy labor I do, it is only reaching my right arm across my body that causes minor pain, clicking/popping, etc. I kid you not. I can lift 50-pound cases all day long, but reaching sideways for a piece of paper bothers me. I have looked up diagnostics for shoulder tears and haven't been able to figure it out. All I can say is surgery is always the last resort if you can't take the pain anymore. Best of luck!
