Did you know that VA contracts, such as those Alpha has, fall under the Service Contract Act?  This means that they MUST pay prevailing wage and offer benefits as stated in the Affordable Healthcare Act, to BOTH FT and PT employees.  They are not supposed to be misclassifying ICs like they are.  You should be a statutory employee and not an IC.  As an IC you should NEVER have to work a schedule, this is how they misclassify you.  You are all owed back pay if you have not been receiving the benefits listed above, i.e. prevailing wage and benefits.  We all need to stick together or they will continue to take us for all we are worth.  It only takes one person to make a complaint, but the more that do will only help our case.  Please contact the Minnesota Department of Labor at (651) 284-5070 or 800-342-5354.
