I worked third shift for 12 years, Sunday through Thursday, every single night. I couldn't sleep normally on Friday or Saturday, and was prescribed Ambien so that I could fall asleep "on command" on work days. I was laid off in 2013 and still have not recovered normal function. It ruined me. Never again.
