I received a job notification through the local VEC about scribe job for a ophthalmologist's office locally. Long story short, I now work as a scribe for this ophthalmologist's office and will be the scribe for a new physician. This office is a retina (back of the eye) specialty clinic. This is truly the most positive place I have ever worked for. They honestly want their employees to succeed and do whatever they need to to make sure it happens. Have an issue? Let them know. Have a suggestion? They want to hear it. Great group of coworkers and best of all, they teach ON THE JOB.
My suggestions: Sign up through your local state employment agency and keep your eye open. It took me 3 months to find this job. Do NOT give up. Only you can change your circumstances and sometimes it means doing the things you dont want to do. I am not saying that everybody can just leave...I realize that there are those of you out there taking care of aging relatives, have health issues, what have you. But regardless, dont give up!
