I have a friend who works for a large cancer hospital as a coder. They went to EPIC last year and the doctors do it all. She said it's horrible! Everything capped. Multiple spelling errors. The doctors she complained to said they didn't care, they knew what the words meant. That's going to go over great in a courtroom! I have discussed EPIC with several doctors and the younger ones have no problems. We need to face facts that we are being phased out. If you are young enough to change careers (it's really a joke to call this a career now), I hope you get out soon. I'm less than a year from 65 and retirement, so I'm hanging in as long as I can.
