If someone shows improvement, or a commitment to their job, good work ethics, being on time, always covering their shift, efforts to better any of their metrics. I think those are the things that are judged. Anyone can do those things no matter what account they are on.
My HDSM told me that there a dozen employees in our group that on Thursday or Friday evening and Saturday, it is guaranteed that several out of that dozen will call in with some excuse they cannot work. Well you can bet, those people who habitually call in sick are not going to be rewarded with anything.
