There is no way I would accept hourly pay from the doctors I work for because I know they would be horrified to realize how much I can make per hour with my templates and expander.

That's how the whole work-at-home business started--a lot of in-house MTs realized that, if transcribing on a computer, they could make a heck of a lot more quitting their hourly-wage job at the hospital and getting paid per line directly by several doctors.

But you could only get away with making $40 an hour and more if they didn't realize that was what you were making--because they think "typists" shouldn't make good money like that, only nurses and doctors.
