Has nothing to do with the work. Has a lot to do with their cost of health insurance, as well as short-term and long-term disability and other insurance.
Over 55-60, people use healthcare more, hence the overall cost is higher. They also have more short-term and long-term disability than younger employees.
It is and always has been fair to adjust the cost of healthcare and disability insurance as well as life insurance according to age brackets.
Go out there and just TRY to get a job if you look/are over 60.
