Hi everyone. I just want to say that GTS is a pleasure to work with and they're hiring (see job board). I work for them from the US. There are two individual owners who communicate with you and get to know you as a worker which is something I've never experienced with a US company.
I started working for GTS because I wanted to be able to travel and take my work with me (an IC with no vacation pay...this is necessary sometimes). I needed to find a company that doesn't mind if I'm not within US borders while working. They're based out of Australia and only have Australia accounts, so I did have to get used to the accent and also British spelling.
Four years into it, I'm happy. Whenever I'm not happy about something I just tell them and we work it out. If you're a good transcriptionist, believe me, they'll work with you on your schedule, your specialty preferences, etc. You get paid in Aus $ through Paypal which is something you have to get used to (billing for a super high amount but then getting a lot less...sometimes you wish you actually got the amount you billed for because that would be awesome). When the Aus $ goes up even a little you're getting paid more than usual, but even when it's down you still get at least 8 CPL US $.
