even if it is in the same room as your work computer, it will have its own IP address.
Problem is, the signals will bounce off the same towers. So if work computer IP is located in East Nowhere, AnyState, USA, the other computer will be located there, too.
Using the proxy server software that someone posted here yesterday, you get to pick your location. Even if you pick United States (which is a good choice, as your computer won't be slowed), that is all the information that will be available to any hackers, United States. You won't be trackable. Even if they manage to "find" you, they won't be finding you. They will be finding a proxy server, whose admins could probably track you down, but only with a court order. And that's a lot of work just to find out who said something they didn't like on a Survey Monkey fishing trip.
