Now I'm hearing maybe XS instead of excess. I'm googling all over the place and getting more and more confused. Help me please? Thank you so much.

I believe it's axis - sm

not sure what you're hearing. I don't understand what you mean about hearing XS instead of excess, since they sound identical.

sounded like XS - because

there was a little bit of a pause between the X sound and the S sound. I ended up going with excess because later on he said there was an extra clone of blahblahblah

axis - jan2

It might be x-axis.
I believe you are right - OP

With further research, this makes sense. What confuses me is when he said there was an extra clone of 1q. So does "extra" equate to "excess"? He also said there were excess blasts. I did find this. "Myeloma cells are prone to many defects of extra, missing, or rearranged chromosomes especially involving chromosomes 1, 3, 5, 9, 13, 14, and 17." However, the chromosomes are axes, so axis was probably correct.

not an onc expert - but SM

It seems like either/both could be correct?
