What is the actual title of the Book of Style? I see The Book of Style for Medical Transcription, 3rd Edition - Paperback (June 15, 2008) by Lea M. Sims and John H. Dirckx and I also see The AAMT Book of Style: A Searchable Medical Transcription Style Guide (2nd Edition) - CD-ROM (July 21, 2005) by American Association for Medical Transcription (AAMT). When you transcribe a doctor's name in the body of the report, do you always need to transcribe the doctor's full name and title, even if not dictated as such - for example, would you need to transcribe "Adam Adams, MD" even if just dictated as "Dr. Adams," and look up the full name and title? For any MT students or new MTs I would suggest this book. It's been around for years. It has very detailed, labeled drawings of anatomical structures that you color in (need colored pencils or fine-tipped markers) I had one of these years and years ago (before I knew what an MT was). Helps you visualize the anatomy and remember the names of the structures. I had fun with it... ...
