Sure. Why not? - xx

It's clear what is meant. If it really bothers you, you could track the doctor down and berate him/her for using a harmless colloquialism, but that probably wouldn't end well. If it were me, I'd just type it and get on with my life.

Personally couldn't care less - but

In the old days, and I'm an oldtimer, it was considered slang. Just wanted to make sure before I get dinged for another stupid thing.

Slang has become acceptable - see msg

Slang has become more acceptable in present day. I personally don't care anymore and can't take the time to fix all these things.

crap too? hahha - bleeble

I just got dinged by qa because i used slang but i also got dinged because I put "Will see the patient in six months". Though not dictated, they say I should be "I" in front of it and my six should be 6 and I had a comma in the sentence before that shouldn't be there. But (oh yes, look I started a sentence with a "butt" lol). Maybe QA is trying to keep their HOURLY jobs while those of us working for slave wages are dinged? And then the new EMRs populate in a bunch of gibberish that is acceptable anyway. This is a mess. Getting out...

Personally, I'd change it and flag QA and let them know ... - Anemone

Unless it's a direct quote ... or a verbatim account.

I've never seen QA change it back ... but I'm sure other people have.

It's a legal document, hi-ho, hi-ho ...

Had a dictator talking about a patient's "butt ulcer" this morning - I typed as dictated

[ In Reply To ..]
These words both are easily understandable, and I don't think either one of them qualifies as "profanity," so I would type either of them exactly as dictated.

Feb 18, 2013

I'm an MME and have always had it drilled into my head never to use kilos for kilograms as it can be the short form of many different types of measurements.  I see ASR constantly typing kilos now and nearly all the MEs I QA leave it as kilos.  Maybe I'm just old fashioned, but was taught (and reprimanded by QA) that it should be kg. ...
