gonna wait 2 wk & figure it backwards - addled

Posted: Dec 05, 2014

I saw the video, read the information, went to the meeting. Decided it's not worth stressing at this point, what can I do about it?

But for the next 2 weeks I'm going to do the best job I can, as usual, and be a little more careful with my webclock punches.  Then I'm going to use the old plan to track my lines as usual, apply any shift differentials as usual, and calculate my total gross pay as usual. Then when the 26th paycheck comes, I'll look at the gross pay and see how it compares to what I would have made on the old system.

That will at least give me an idea of how this plan will be affecting my paychecks.

Please post back after you calculate the difference. - nm

That's exactly what I am doing. I calculate mine every week and I am always on the money when I calculate it and I am going to calculate it just like always and see where the new paycheck is compared to what it would have been on old pay scale and then decide if I am going to go to my other job and make it full time

All you can do - really. . .

I'm not going to waste my time trying to figure out that wonky grid. Sure, you can take your past pay and figure out what you might be making, but no one can figure in the QA scores. Truly, no one will know what their pay is until the paycheck is done.

Some days I don't have any blanks and get good dictators the entire shift, other days it's a nightmare. Paycheck amounts will be a mystery from payday to payday now.

I'm just going to do what I've been doing since 1989. Submitting the best, most complete and accurate report possible even though I'm starting on three new accounts beginning today along with the pay scale change. "Exciting!" (thank you so much for yanking my primary that I've had for 4+ years).

Will be interesting to see on Dec. 26th if this new pay scale is as "exciting" as they're touting it to be.

Good luck everyone.

It may or may not - Depends

on whether they FIESA'd or QA'd you to death YET or not because it's coming as sure as the sun will come up tomorrow.

Reading with horror what this company is like. Why are the people in India doing QA with US MTs being the transcriptionists.  That sounds completely backwards to me.  Unless . . . they are training the Indians by exposing them to lots of correctly transcribed reports so they can learn American English better?   ...

7.1 Seems A Step Backwards
Oct 03, 2012

It is so sad that with the newest upgrade to the newest software we seem to have gone backwards.  What was the point of us doing all the highlighting and correcting, placing all the skip and redundant markers in the past for the program to have either "lost" all of that or maybe it needs retraining. On top of that, if the "client" doesn't want grammar check enabled, then its not.  EXCUSE ME?  What the heck.  Why can't we have gender mismatch checked and cc triggeri ...

How To Set An Autocorrect To Move Backwards?
Sep 15, 2011

Do anyone know the code (or whatever it's called) in MS Word 2007 Autocorrect to move something backwards? Specifically, I'm trying to move "-year-old" backwards so that I just type the age and then my autocorrect "yo" and it moves it backwards against the number. I know I've seen this somewhere, but I've googled it and can't find it anywhere. TIA soooooooooooooooooo much! :) ...

As SOON as I quit, which will be very soon, I will be happy to post any emails and replies that I get from Nuance.  I sent my TSM an email about my pay and was basically told to take it up with payroll, so I did.  I'm still waiting for an answer or non-answer from them.  I won't hold my breath though, I don't really look good blue.  I will also go so far as to post the pay tier that was on my last timecard.  Beware the copier and paster Nuance!  Bewar ...

Gonna Try Something New Here
May 17, 2015

The next time I get an error for something that VR should definitely know simply by having "learned" after 5 years of MTs "teaching it" by changing it to the correct term, I am going to request a reversal and fight it to get removed from me when VR consistently gets it wrong and DOES NOT LEARN. Why should I get the error which affects my pay when their program can't get it right after 5000 corrections? Similarly, recently I got a major error because the doctor on my 5th account (not my pri ...

Aug 26, 2011

I'm seeing a lot of these, “I hate my job” threads lately. To be fair, it's mostly aimed at Medquist, and other similar entities, but still.  Gotta keep your chins up guys. As a student, I find these kinds of threads very disheartening. In the very near future I'll be joining the ranks, and I won't lie; I would be tickled pink to be making minimum wage, or any wage whatsoever. A hundred dollars a week would be great for me. Obviously that's not ideal, b ...

I want to extend a great big THANK YOU to everybody who has posted on this board, both good and bad.  I never took the negativity personally or to heart.  In fact, I considered it a lesson that I needed to learn with respect to the way this industry has deteriorated. That coupled with my sciatica (only when sitting) convinced me that it was time to move on once and for all, which I have. I would like to see others in this industry do the same. The biggest problem for me was findin ...
