Question about pulling physician's name from the database into the body of the report. - sm

Posted: Dec 19, 2012

When in EditScript and using the Contacts list to copy a physician name into the body of the report, does anyone else find that sometimes (not always) the cursor locks up for a few seconds and you have to wait before you can move on?  If so, has anyone found a remedy other than just waiting, maybe some key to hit other than the spacebar?

Almost always. Tech support is no help. No remedy. Sorry - nm

And that you've tried Tech Support already.

Thanks.

How do you do that? - brainfreeze

That was one of the shortcuts that my sad brain didn't retain.

Alt + i, find physician same way as with CC, arrow up/down to select, - Enter key.

Should go right into the report.

Anybody Ever Had Any Issues With The Physician Database Being Really Slow
May 09, 2013

I've got a new account that's really laggy typing any names into the database, but even worse, up to a 4- to 5-second delay deleting names via backspace.  I've tried troubleshooting the issue with Tech Support, but no luck there.  Just upgraded my ISP to see if that might be a contributing factor, but no change with that, so the next thing is to upgrade my RAM from 2 GB to 4 GB, I guess.  It's happening during both a regular Alt + I search and also Alt + C ...

Pulling Yourself Through Unlikelable Dictation
Aug 03, 2011

I have been transcribing over six years.   Lately, I have been finding myself procrastinating whenever a dictation comes up in my queue that I  don't really care for.  It's not necessarily that it is a difficult dictator but it may be the specialty (oncology in my case) or a dictator that has long gaps in dictating their report.  I know that's part of the job but I was wondering how do any you cope or what you do to make it through these to make these repo ...

Old Reports In Database Make Me Embarrassed To Be An MT
Sep 27, 2010

in the report I looked up:  He also had a temperature of 102.  He was given half of a beer, which improved it. Anyone Inquired About This One: "Data Entry Database Compiler - Karen"?
Apr 20, 2010

I saw this one on the Job Seeker board (http://forum.mtstars.com/223201.html) and was wondering if anyone responded to it yet. On some levels, it seems legit...but then on other hand it seems like a scam because it keeps talking about their "database compiler software," and I keep thinking about those companies that'll hire you to work for them but in order for you to make "real money" you'd have to buy their software. I know there's plenty of free compiler software on the net, ...

Resident Physician

I have alway been told when in doubt, leave a blank. Resident did not give attending physician's name. There was a doctor's name in the hearder as attending, but I  was not sure so I left the attending line blank at the bottom of the report. Associated Or Associative Physician
Sep 14, 2012

The doctor I transcribe for sometimes says "Associated Physician" and sometimes says "Associative Physician" and then lists the doctor's name.   Sometimes he will also list a "Primary Physician."  Just curious to see if there is a difference between associated vs associative and if one would be better than the other in this situation.  Any thoughts? Another Physician's Comments On Using The EMR
Nov 23, 2012

Below is a link to a NY Times editorial.  "The advent of electronic medical records has been a boon to patient safety and physician efficiency in many ways. But it has also brought with it a slew of “timesaving” tricks that have had some unintended consequences. These tricks make it so easy for doctors to document the results of standard exams and conversations with patients that it appears more and more of them are being documented without ever having happened in the first pla ...
