Hey Nuance !!! This is my take on this new pay plan... - Read ON.......

Just went back and studied all my pay statements since this new "Patient Safety Pay Plan" was implemented.  Here is what I found:

My pay was a bit MORE when I was off the grid QA-wise at 98.8%, less than 10% to QC (barely), and higher-than-normal for me lines per hour (I busted arse; hence the lower QA score)...but...pay was HIGHER this way than when I was more careful, got 100% QA post audit scores, less than 10% QC, and about average-for-me lines per hour. 

So much for your "Patient Safety" plan, Nuance.  Do you see how ridiculous you look now?  You are ENCOURAGING MTs to concentrate on production and NOT QUALITY.  If that were the case, MTs would get penalized more for bad quality, which I had in the more-pay scenario, and LESS in the production...not to mention the QC, which, just for the fact that you SLASH to 7 cents/line (no matter if the MT has 100% QA or not) if they send more than 10% to QC.  Your plan is backwards if you are trying to improve quality.  Once again, this proves that you are only interested in production, hence lining you pockets more, NOT quality.

Whatever it takes to get the word out there, clients need to know that quality is not Scruance's #1 goal. These greedy you-know-whats make me sick.

When I had over 10 percent to qc and 99 plus percent qa made 7 cents. Now I've been sending as few as possible for review and qa has dropped to like 98.6 and make a much higher rate. Definitely something wrong with this plan. This is the first company that encourages you to guess at what the docs are saying instead sending the chart for a second listen. Somehow I don't think this guarantees patient safety, just the opposite. Guess this is what the future of health care is going to look like, very scary.

not send much to QC for fear of dropping their pay to a humiliating and pathetic 7 cents a line so more will be going directly to the client. Since Nuance subtly encourages production over quality, that production is going to come at a cost...there WILL be mistakes and the clients WILL notice and then they will be ALL OVER NUANCE...."What do you MEAN you guys have a "patient safety" plan for your employees???? WTH?

is they will blank things they are not absolutely sure of, cannot document and QA will get those. Because I am currently on a 3-blank account, if I am not absolutely sure, I blank it. I do some searches but will not guess, at all. I also will not spend the time looking at previous reports to see if I can fill in doctor's names, etc. If not easily found, then I am not digging for it.

Sick over the new compensation plan.  The number of lines I would have to do to make what I'm used to making is impossible if we are doing full review since they are paying QC'd lines at half of actual line count.  I can't do 100% voice to text and fill in blanks on 250-300 lines an hour all day every day. Heck, back when we just filled in blanks only and did not do full review, we were considered good and meeting goals if we QC'd 220 lph.  No way to do that an ...

For the last year, the QCs were required to meet the company standard metrics of 150+ LPH, quality of 99% or higher, schedule adherence of 99%. I was told that the position would be acute care and on the Escription platform.  Supposedly the majority of MTs on this account are making 10 cents a line.  I have since been doing a lot of research and see a lot of posts about how you are unable to make any money with Nuance.  I guess my question is do different platforms and accounts affect what your line compensation would be?  I need to make a decision and looking for some information.  Thanks.... ...

It appears they have done away with our paid holidays.  We can work on holidays and have a bonus (if the facility is open and there is work).  If not, we have to take it out of our PTO or not get paid. My pay  by the new plan is cut from 9  typing and 5 voice recognition to 8 and 4 instead per line.  The incentive bonus requires 99% accuracy by QA audit, and 15% or less of reports going to QA, paid every 2 weeks.   ...

My opinion,  having been in the industry for over 30 years and after reading a few posts on this subject below. For years a good deal of MTSO's including Webmedx had in place bonus or incentive plans based on production ONLY. Such a plan most likely helped Webmedx win "employer of the year" for years. This means 65% will see decrease and/or paid minimum wage. I will check for work during my schedule. Work it if possible, if not, just use the no wrk excused absence comment. I am not going to work around the clock to try and make it up. Ridiculous. If you want to, that is okay, but seems crazy to ask people to do this.  Why don't the supervisors/TSMs have a call about this. We get an email, but never anyone to tell us directly about a change. Cant we all write the guys who are on the e-mail we all got if in fact this turns out to be something bad? Flood their emails and desks? Ya know its too bad we cant get together 500+ MLS and go on strike... I would do it. If a ton of us went on strike and demanded fair wages and changes, with noone typing their reports for 48+ hours I think they'd listen. It kind of sounds like the pay will be the same even if they lower the base..... b/c if they lower the base rate but you get a tad extra ...

Sounds like they are taking out the LPH requirements? Or am I the only 1 thinking this? Sounds like they take out the requirement for LPH. Now your lines may drop due to focusing more on QA/blanks/rereading,etc.  Normally that would lower your lines and lower your pay. Now it will lower your lines BUT you will send less to Q and have less mistakes so your pay will ultimately stay the same. This is how I am taking all of this. The abuse and the stress have gone beyond the pale. The people who put together this pay plan have no idea what it is like to work in the trenches. We have taken pride in our work and have loved the field of medical transcription, but they have made us hate it. They have caused us to make more mistakes. Did anybody get the email about the changes they are making.  We have longer time to request a reversal (big deal - they never approve them so really????) and now they can QA us for our 2 weeks rather than our 1 weeks which in my  opininon just gives them more time to pick apart which ones they want to check and find their errors to total up!!!  That is great idea. ...

I have a dictator will dictate the Assessment/Plan with a number for the problem and a letter for the plan (1.  Gout.  A. Labs in the morning.  B.  Medication, 2.   Etc.  A. B., 3. Does anyone know if the PTO we see as of today in teamwork is the correct remaining PTO for the rest of the year?  I was not sure if the pto we used previously in the period ending 12/26 is reflected in the current PTO in teamwork yet.   This is confusing me since we will get a 12/31 paycheck.  I know pto will not accumulate until next year but it looks like to me I did not lose any PTO even since taking a few hours ending the 26th.  any clues out there?  ...

just continue to take what I can get until there is nothing left.  If it means working here and there I guess that is what I will do.  As far as coding, MModal is advertising everywhere for coding people and I can assure you they are training coders and that work will be heading overseas as well so why bother.  They will keep the rates low and there wont be any money in that either.  I guess the only way to even try to survive in transcription is take what you can get unless ...
