QA corrected my kidney disease stage 3, to III. on a more recent report, they corrected my stage III to 3. what the heck? i have on my notes that grade is 1,2,3, and stage I, II, III. anyone in the know? what is up with QA?????

wish they would get it together and at least try to be consistent.

100% Stage 3 - No question about it.

On the bottom of page 23 of the Transcription Style Guide. Let your PC know about the QA who corrected otherwise so she can let them know how to do it correctly.

I'm thinking this kind of discrepancy is at least part of the reason ASR is not as good as it could be.

Pg. 50 says grade with Arabic (grade 1, 2, 3) Like in school! Cancer is Staging and in Roman. So Stage III would be Roman and very formal as in the theatre.

Yet, I have had QA do the exact same! Ping Pong'ing. Do not ask because they stand behind whomever right or wrong because you know...in the end it doesn't even matter.

TSG is what MM uses above BOS2 - sm

No pingponging. Whatever is in the TSG is the right way for MM. With regard to CKD it is always Arabic regardless if it is dictated as stage or grade.

okay, well, that makes sense to why i was confused and why i have a note written that grade is Arabic and stage is roman....i guess i made those notes pertaining to cancer. now i know my first attempt at 3 for kidney disease was correct. i only starting putting III after QA corrected me.

The tape put out by them, who were in charge of the CMT guidelines, said IT DOES NOT MATTER. So...does it really matter to an College English Professor? Does it really matter when you look at what we are listening to? OMG, I cannot even hear 'the.' Sometimes I have to wonder if they are told to find anything to show they are doing their job. Ugh.

it really DOES NOT matter....at least not to any doctors that need the info for patient care. and yea, disc, that drives me crazy, or at least it used to. MModal is the only place in the world that demands it be disk. everywhere else i've worked its disc. but i do what my great leaders here at MM tell me to do. lol.

the idea of contacting my manager and paying attention to what QA person it is is just laughable to me. why in the world would i waste my time trying to get a message through to these people when it is clear they have no interest in paying any of us the least bit of attention, unless it is to chastise us.?

About every 6 months or so, it seems I am moved to a new account. First account that I had for a few years went offshore, next account went completely to Epic, the account after that was overstaffed. In a cancer report, the doctor gave a diagnosis of Stage IIIC T4aN2M0 cancer. Then she later said, He was staged as a pathological T4aN2a. She added the a and dropped the M0. I listened very carefully for the diagnosis and later in the problem list. She does not add the a after the N2 in either place. Does anyone know why it is N2a in one place but just N2 in the DX? ...
