After a surgery..Patient instructed to get up and work...Dang they are getting pushy in the hospitals today...And I guess the patient is a he-she cause sometimes is a male, sometimes its a female...Who does this stuff?

Do you really need a reply to this? It's pretty - anon

obvious...........the Indians or Chinese or where ever else the Q has people doing this work. I'm not being mean, just making a statement so please don't think I am harrassing you :)

Maybe - it is

done right here in the US. People have gotten where they really don't care anymore what the reports look like. The companies have taken so much away and keep adding more and more to the list of things to do and pay us half to do the VR that frankly this is what is happening. They obviously don't care because they will not do anything to make things better for their workers. They just continually take, take, take. You can't keep doing that to your workers and not have it affect the quality of work. I hope they lose every one of their accounts and go out of business along with all the other big companies who have set the standards so low for us.

You are right, sorry. It could be the MTs here, sm - anon

Also if they put MTs on accounts that are OP notes, etc., the MTs may not know how to do them and are getting them wrong and as you say don't care or don't know. I suppose it could be a number of reasons. But the bad thing is, the reports are not correct a lot of the time. I also hope the Q goes out of business. They do treat people as numbers and slaves or whatever else you want to call us.

Sounds like it is ASR that isn't being listened to. - dnr

That's the only way to possibly make money with ASR. Although, the company average, according to the statistics I receive, the average is still minimum wage (in my state).

I have been keeping statistics, and still, ASR is not faster than straight typing; that is, if you do a full listen. The statistics I am keeping consists of time spent editing and the average time to straight type (1 minute dictation = 3 minutes straight type). 99% ASR does not meet their promised production claims. I actually got 1 report that met their claims of ASR quality yesterday. I probably won't see that for several months again, and, of course, it was not one of my usual accounts.

When Someone QAs Your Stuff......
Feb 14, 2011

Hi - when QA gives you feedback on a blank you had, are they supposed to (ethically is it proper) for them to continue on and reprimand you, for example,  with "I did find the same thing you blanked at Google.  You need to go to Google." or are they supposed to just correct, and then have your account manager talk to you?   Thanks! ...

Where Is MM ASR Getting This Stuff??!
Jan 31, 2013

I just got a report where words were added that were essentially a diagnosis that could match the symptoms and treatment the patient had, but THE DOCTOR NEVER SAID THAT! Talk about adding words! Now MM ASR is diagnosing patients along with all the other extra words it adds. At least this string of words was obvious, but there are a lot of little care-changing words added that could be missed. It's amazing what it makes out of thin air when the doctor isn't dictating as it's ge ...

in FIESA is supposed to help my quality if I CAN'T go back and relisten to what I missed. I don't like taking somebody's else's word for it and I certainly don't like putting my initials that I reviewed it. If I missed it, I would be the first to admit it, but I don't ever really know if I missed something or not. I know it doesn't count against the QA score, but it's still aggravating. Sometimes, being able to listen a second time would make everything cl ...

Fair Standards Act/getting Together On This Stuff
Jan 04, 2010

Maybe I'm just looking in the wrong place, but it seems like with all the screwing over that some of these companies do to us (and I know it's no accident that they don't encourage us to communicate amongst ourselves), few people here are suggesting some way of getting together to "encourage" the companies we work for to screw us over less, or at least less painfully. I know there's a Fair Standards act, for example, that supposedly covers even us (working on production). Whi ...

Legal Stuff For MTs--employees And ICs
