You know I am no longer with MQ. I did not pass the audit and honestly I really did not care to. I have figured out why bother. Why kill myself for short checks. I have worked with them for 12 years and I feel so free right now.

I also am working for another company on the side so that helps :)

Would you mind sharing - how it happened, fired or you quit

before they fired you. I've been wondering how this would take place because I've failed a couple and am just waiting. Would rather get fired than quit, isn't that crazy--for UI benefits. Need the health insurance or I would be outa here already, live in rural area, no jobs here.

I was fired. But I wanted to be to collect UI. The report that was audited Bad dictator. I left a lot of blanks ??the a drug was wrong. I should have left a blank, I know but I didn't.

The other report - was a Rehab report, I did not bring in the mandatory headings in (honestly did not know), we have so many new accounts out there it is all confusing. Some allow "cc" and some allow only "mL". I questioned the audits felt that being marked down for a blank or how can your score go down for typing "IMPRESSION" when dictator said "ASSESSMENT" that report was marked 52% just for that. Bottom line I felt they were very petty.

When being fired is the best of all options, it sure says something about our employer. We all applied to this company, we want to do an honest day's work for honest wages and many of us have done that for decades, but this is intolerable. Unless it's strictly verbatim, aren't Impression and Assessment the same? Come on...does that affect patient welfare? NO. What's that saying about power corrupting absolutely, the QCs doing these audits sure fit that description (maybe not all, but mine sure does).

The sad part, this past summer I helped my girlfriend at her pizza place during the summer. Do you know that I was making $400, there part-time every 2 weeks. :) My checks from MQ since January have been cut in half. I also realized today when filling out UI that this month marked my 10 years with MQ :)

I'm in your old shoes. I've passed 2, but if I fail another audit, I'm fired. Coincidentally, they switched all of my accounts with a 2 days notice - all acoounts I've been working on for 5 years. They now expect me to learn 10, so far, new accounts with no training and expect to know the CP of all of them by heart. The kicker is the reason that they supposedly transferred me was because of one particular account I type and since transferring, I haven't typed that account once!!!

That is precisely how MTSOs will eventually weed out - ALL American workers. SO evil! -nm

My husband keeps saying to me, "So what if you got fired, it would be a blessing in disguise." He is fed up with all the crap I have gone through with this company in over 20 years.

It keeps getting worse. NEVER gets better and I sit here hoping it will get better, but that was over 20 years ago.

After working for MQ for nearly 5-1/2 years, I'm finally leaving. The first 5 years were great! Then they decided to force QAs to do transcription and ASR. If I wanted to transcribe I would have applied for an MT job. Not to mention the fact that I was making close to $16 an hour and now this has been reduce to around $11 and sometimes under $8. I'm giving notice that I'm quitting very soon! I made good money until the last year or so and I'm leaving this job that I find boring and lonely (and now doesn't even pay well). I'm going to be working for a doctor as a scribe and getting paid per hour! Woo-hoo!! The pay is not great but at least I will be out of the house and doing something a little different. Judging from some of the recent posts below, there looks to be an exodus of sorts from MModal and MT in general. I have joined that group. I left MModal last month to pursue another at-home job NOT IN MT with flexible schedule, hourly pay, and pays substantially more than what I made at MModal. Don't know what took me so long to "take the plunge" away from MT. Hi from Australia on Australia Day. Only new at this MT at home business. Struggling to get my line count up. I have Stedmans 2008 on my "other computer" which quit working earlier this week, won't be fixed til next week. had to get an inexpensive replacement today so I can work -- can't afford to be not able to work for that long and it will do as a backup in the future.
