Retired and not looking back - kitty lady

It has been a month since I retired. No more stress headaches. No more babysitting the computer to get my lines in. It was worth the $200 I lost each month for early retirement. I am still working 3 days a week,21/25 hours but much, much less stress. This is the last time I will be visiting this site. I wish you all good luck in the future. If you enjoy working for MModal then you are lucky. To all those unhappy there, I hope you find a better job and that you are happy. Good luck and may your fingers fly.

I just wanted to wish you the very best in your retirement. I could not believe how much stress left me when I retired. If this old lady's opinion means anything, I think you made the right decision. $200 is only money, but peace of mind is priceless! Enjoy your retirement!

Thank you. I am much happier now. Decided in January to retire at 62, but had to wait until July. It seemed like July took forever to get here. First Social Security check in September. Yeah, early retirement.

I just turned 60 so retiring is not an option for me. I am filling out job applications in fields other than medical records. Can't wait until I can tell MM goodbye!

After talking to my husband, who is retired, I decided to retire early when I turned 62. Told supervisor that I would retire at the end of July. One night dictators were so bad that in the morning I told my husband, "I am done, just done with this job." Retired about 10 days early. Turned 62 on the 16th and so I will not get a social security check until September. Have a part time job working 20 to 25 hours a week/usually 3 days a week. So much better. The months between January and July were really long months.

You can do it. It will seem like forever, but will be here in no time. I tried to hold out until the end of July but quit 10 days early. Good luck and just keep plugging on I wish you the best.

but I'm going to stick it out until they fire me. Just knowing I can retire, though, makes everything a lot more tolerable here. Big load off my shoulders with SS for backup now.

After 49-1/2 years in this profession (slavery lately) I decided to retire 6 months earlier than planned. Well, after last thursday night such bad dictators and made no money--so just getting min wage, I finally retired 10 working days early. So sad when you can make more money working 25 hours a week in a grocery store as a customer service rep, cashier, and working on self-scans. Such a relief to get away from this company. Hello, I would like to transcribe from home again. However, I HAVE to get up and walk for a few minutes at least once an hour. You see, I had to have 2 back surgeries in the last 18 months. I've been a transcriptionist for many years and this is my profession. Does anyone have a suggestion what to tell these companies that will hire you to work from home when you have to get up so much? The last company I tried had a "pop-up" box that appeared on my screen if you were up longer than 10 min ...

I quit last July because they couldn't keep me "transcriptioning," sent my resignation to my supervisor, and then received a letter in October stating that I was terminated. Loved it! And I'm thinking of reapplying. Ought to be an interesting experience.. lol.. just love it! I don't have anything else to do, and what other company would let you not work for 3 months before they terminated you? Did I mention how much I love this ...

Thanks so much for any advice! I am newly divorced and working at a call center, and I have an MT certificate from Everett Community College, and even though I have lost 1/2 of my stuff thanks to my ex, I seem to have held on to my foot pedal, software, and that is about it. I would like to start over and try to find an MT job. I had an excellent GPA in school but have never worked. I graduated in 2007. Am I crazy to try? I figure it is now or never, anyway. ok so after 13 years, having to resort to food stamps and borrowing money to make my rent, I leave MM approx 2-1/2 months ago to to type for 2 docs and 2 PAs in a private practice at $15/hr, no weekends, no holidays, beautiful office building, 1 hour lunch...and I get a call asking if I would consider coming back to MM ... AND I wouldn't even have to test for them!. ha....ha ha....ha ha ha....ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ...

Since the announcement of MModal bankruptcy, I have had such mixed feelings. First of all, I have just begun my 17th year with this company. I have been through many TSMs or whatever they are now. I have now been doing EditScript for a month now and my lines are still horrific. I've read the manual over and over and still have the below questions. I'm only doing 1/4 of what I used to do and it hurts. 1. I have to minimize and maximize my screen to see more than 10-14 lines. Anyone else have this problem?
