Question about when training pay ends... - anony

I have been on training pay at $10 an hour. I have this pay period and half of next pay period left of training pay. Then I will get per line pay. I have been on these accts for 3 weeks now. Accts have lots of ESLs, bad dictators, not good. Straight, no VR.

Things is after 3 weeks according to my lines and hours I am not quite making min wage yet. After this pay period and part of the next when I get per line pay if it is not equivalent to min wage what are they going to say or do? I know they will have to add to it to make it at least min wage until I get it up there. I'm just wondering how long they give you to get to your required 120 lines per hour speed?

I hope they only give you 1 second - to get your lines up there

I am tired of not getting any work because they hired too many newbies. And you get straight typing? WT???

Oh well, I am a cut throat MT. Turned evil by MModal. My blood sugar is also low because I cant afford food anymore, and that is making me a little moody. Tough luck...that is what MModal said about not having work.

you really need to stop blaming the newbies - what are they supposed to do?

are they supposed to not take the job because they heard that the current employees don't have enough work? Your bitter attitude is not winning any sympathy around here.

I said, "because THEY hired too many." I also said that I hope they only give newbies 1 second to get their line rate up to where it needs to be. 150 is a cake walk, its not hard to do. I dont get sympathy from this company, why should anyone else. That is not blaming anyone. That is stating MY OPINION, which I am entitled to have. I have earned the right to complain about how I am treated after 18 years of service. If you dont like reading it, that is YOUR PROBLEM!

Dont know what is going on, but I feel sympathy for "newbies" into the MT field. I have been doing this 35 years and had to get my associates degree, then got trained in hospital my first job. If I had to work at a service being new, I would look into another line of work!!

way? It is one of the meanest posts I have ever read. I let alot just roll off my back but, this person is new and asking help from her co-workers and you give her a huge helping of nasty. Why would you do that? You are hating the people who are in the same situation, new or not.

First of all, I am not a newbie to MT. I am new at MModal. I did not take this job to make a living; I took it for extra money while going to school for my associate degree. I am not new to MT, and I am aware of the decline in this career. That is why I am in college. Instead of sitting here being bitter, I did something about it. I go to the local community college. It doesn't cost me anything; I get grants. Anyone else could do the same. I was offered a job; I took it.

Instead of hating me, why don't you ask to be transferred to one of the new accounts? It can't hurt to ask.

It's a shame you can't even ask a simple question on this board of other employees of this company without getting hate.

Good for you for standing up to the meanies here! Good for you for making the choice to go back to school and get out of MT. It can be done! A lot of people here are just happy being miserable.

An associates can't get you much of a job nowadays unless it is in something specialized. Just don't want you making a mistake with the degree. Nowadays you need a masters to make any money and even then it is hard to find a job

We have a lot of large clinics and hospitals around here and lots of times they are looking for people with AA degrees for different office things, can't remember the exact title but lots of times they require AA degrees. I know I won't make a lot of money but I can make decent money. I may continue on for a bachelor's degree after that, but I am gonna start with this and see where it leads.

Every day ASR gets increasingly of base. There are so many times when I have to sit and search each line looking for anything that remotely resembles what is being clearly dictated. It started out with maybe 35% accuracy before editing. Now it barely makes 20%.
