This is a very negative board. I see misery loves company. If you hate your life and your job, what are you doing here? Oh, maybe thats why you are here. Nothing to do but P and Moan? MTStars? Doesnt look like it. This board needs more positive people.

seem to have nothing better to do but sit and wait for any opportunity to jump in and regurgitate unwanted useless comments. For the love of God, get a life and just leave people alone who come here to find comradery with other MTs. Most of the trolls here probably don't even know what an MT is.

Seriously, why don't the moderators require members to create an actual account, be assigned one permanent ID, and just ban the losers??

that's why! I have seen this board trashed on other boards simply because of what appears to be a few "old timers" that are stuck in the past, or as they repeatedly say, "the good old days." Well, times change - why don't you take your own advice (the negative ppl, I mean) and YOU adjust or leave?

I used to get very offended by the things these old cows would write about newbies, but now that I'm working steady and making plenty of money (yeah, well over minimum wage, just to head you off), I come here for entertainment purposes. When I'm having a bad day, I read some of the things these miserable ppl write, and I always feel better. Why? At least I'm not miserable and disgruntled and showing the world that I can't keep up with change and/or technology!!!!!

Oh, we ol' heifers can keep up with technology alright, - we just cant see doing it for free.

You people crack me up when you refer to management as suits. Where do you live, the ghetto? Have you ever seen the owners of MT companies....they aren't Donald Trump. I am not now a "suit" but I have been one, and no, I did not spend all my time laughing all the way to the bank and reveling in the misfortunes of the minions.

Because, you see, unhappy minions are no laughing matter, even if you are a cold-hearted b_____ who cares nothing about the help.

That is because unhappy minions don't get their work done, or they don't do it well, they spread their unhappiness like an infectious disease, and then they either quit or have to be terminated because they're not doing the work they were hired to do, and then you have to go through all the interview and hiring process all over again, which is NOT fun and games.

I spent my time in the suit trying to herd cats, keep the minions happy or at least reasonably functional, and answer to the suits above me for how my department was or was not functioning. And believe me, the suits above me were not laughing all the way to the bank either.

Just my $0.15 worth, adjusted for inflation.

I used to make better-than-average MT money, just like you currently do. And then one day that job dried up because the client ultimately opted for "cheaper" rather than "better" work. They all do, in the end. Just takes some a little longer than others.

So you claim to be all-knowing about every MTs situation? About why they do MT? About why they stay? Or why they're looking to get into or out of it? You know only YOUR OWN situation, not mine, nor anyone else's. But actually, you don't know your own situation very well, either, or else you'd have at least a glimmer of a clue about how tenuous a decent-paying MT job is, nowadays. It can dry up in a heartbeat.

tomorrow, you can choke to death on a piece of food, you can have a heart attack and drop death. I HAVE lost jobs before, so what, found another. I am not all knowing about anything, just stating a fact about how long I have been doing and how I love. I read on here about others and they cannot find another job or cannot go out of the home to work, all the time.

no, you probably wont find a decent job overnight. I've been looking 3 years now. I'm still MT-ing because it's all I know how to do (at this particular point in time). I'm still at a company that pays peanuts because why bother to jump from one peanut-payer to another? Although I prefer to work at home, being part of an invisible workforce is just asking to be taken advantage of. And we are. On-site jobs are as rare as hen's teeth nowadays, but if I can find one within 50 miles of my home that pays hourly and gives bennies, then I'll bite the bullet, gulp down the coffee on the fly, and do the commute. At least I'll have my weekends free, again, and might even be able to afford to go out and DO something on them, other than just scrambling to make those lines.

The Negative Nancys have just as much right to post their opinions or rants as the Happy Hollys have to post their kumbaya of MT-hood.

Not everything is positive, supportive, and uplifting, nor does it need to be.

You can tell by subject line and direction of the thread which side of the road it is on. If you don't like the negativity, stay away from it. It is kind of like your TV remote control. You have the power .. exercise it.

In the meantime, live and let post, and save your scolding and finger-wagging for your children.

That is exactly the problem!! Granted, I would much rather read about and/or address an MT problem or question, but if you just need to unload, that's fine. But do so without making someone else feel terrible. That seems to be the only way a few (and sadly, a few is all it takes) ppl can communicate on here. In other circumstances, I would feel bad that their own life is so miserable, but after reading their repeated negative posts, I can see why they're miserable - obviously, they don't want to work at home but aren't fit for life among the living and have no choice!!

OK..... It's an orthopedic chart note. Patient has a chief complaint of hip pain. Dictated: He has a negative [s/l fair, fairs, varus?] sign, a negative fabere sign. It doesn't sound like fadir; I'm not hearing that "d." I already had to leave two medication blanks and hate to leave another one for an orthopedic sign that I feel like I should know! Thank you in advance for your help and ideas! ...

I honestly don't understand all the negative MTs on here. It is very unprofessional to come on here and slam your company. I have been an MT for over 10 years and have always made enough money and I'm proud of what I do and love the money I make, all while working from home. Seriously. The account I'm on has apparently been having lots of critical errors, mostly number errors, lab values etc. So they sent out an email with an attached PDF with a crossword puzzle that we are required to do and turn in. WTF? Is this elementary school? And we are paid by the line. How do they plan to compensate us for our time doing the required crossword puzzle? I find it totally ridiculous.
