But really,what hasn't? Seeing lots of posts from 60+ and wonder what is the average age of MTs. I will go first - age 61.

Retired from one of the biggies. Hospital went to MTSO (like 90% of hospitals so i have read). After the honeymoon period, I retired as it was a $45,000 pay cut plus having to pay for health insurance with MTSO. I retired early (age 62-1/2) and make more on retirement than working for MTSO. Gave 27 years to last hospital. It was a great job for 45 of the 46 years. Good luck to all of you younger people trying to make it now.

I was hoping to hold out until 65 but was laid off in December after two years with the company. Now on unemployment and filed for early social security. Cobra too much $$$$. Looking for something to offset that.....

Good to see someone my same age! I still do a little MT for a friend who owns a company. I do it for travel money, had planned a trip to Asia, but after all of the airline problems, am not so sure I want to go! Anyway, good to see another golden oldie MT on here! BTW, I started in 1968!

Just read through the survey without answering the questions. Waste of time! No matter how many of us answer it and regardless of what we say, after it is all over they will tell us that MQ employees love the company. I am an MT who has been around for 14 years with this company and I have my gripes like all the rest of you. I took the survey and stuck it to them when it mattered. For example, when they ask if compensation encourages people to do their best, the obvious answer is "strongly disagree" right? Before the new pay rule game, I made 7.5 cents (3.75 cents for editing). Then when this new pay game started, I made less at 7 cents. However, I find lately I've been actually making noticeably more money with this pay game. You just got to keep quality and pending to QC under control. Every time MQ sends out a survey they use it to justify a pay cut or cesspool or other "great" ideas. They twist the results of the survey to fit their agenda and then say- see the MTs agree that ASR is better or they are sick of running out of work. JMHO but I am not filling it out so they can use my answers to make my job worse than it already is. ...

Less than 10% of us have taken the long, boring, unpaid survey about your latest software tweak. Maybe its because we're sick of giving you unpaid freebies! Enterprise sucks. On the question of "how well does MQ work for you", my reply was..."it doesn't" and I proceeded to say that I am worth and deserve a decent salary, among other things. At the end of the survey, there is a section for comments. Although I'm sure this survey will change/help nothing, being able to leave this comment did make me feel a little better: By far, this is the worst company I've ever worked for in over 25 years. Punitive QA and FIESA errors counted as major, which are NOT. At Webmedx, I received an incentive for lines typed, NOT based on trumped down QA scores to keep me from obtaining it.
