Transcend interview...what's it like? - looking

I'm thinking of setting up an interview with Transcend and wondering what to expect. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

Nothing special, just basic info. Then they tell you to take the test. I finally got around to it this morning. Could not get foot pedal to work so it was a pain but completed it and now waiting to here from them. Will see, hear they are not much different from MQ

The interview was no biggie, even though I was totally stressed as I hadn't done one in 10 yrs. Recruiter was very nice. The test wasn't that bad, but like Donna, I couldn't use my foot pedal. Thank goodness it wasn't timed! As for the Q part, I totally disagree! I was bought by them as a tier 4 and ended up making 1/6 of what I made when I started. Here, I've run out of work so far once for 15 minutes. Good luck!

Those low work volumes WILL kick in and you will be amazed at how fast they jerk your benefits for not maintaining full time status production. Good luck to you!

Foot pedal issues. Are you using Google Chrome? - Justwondering

Hi,

I wondered if the issues with the foot pedal are because you are using Google Chrome by chance? The reason I ask is when I went to take the test, my husband had been using Google Chromme and it just wouldn't work. Then I changed to regular Internet Explorer and it worked just fine. Just thought I would tell you my experience with the foot pedal issue. :)

I cannot believe anyone would work for this company. The hospital I currently worked for just let go of over 20 transcriptionists and outsourced to Transcend. I was shocked, to say the least, at the pittance we were offered. 4 cpl for edited and 8 cpl for transcribed, with a half a penny for working pms. If this is the industry norm, I'm getting out of transcription. The hospital should be totally ashamed of themselves for screwing over their transcriptionists this way. The benefits are horrible - I'd be working just to pay for the insurance, never mind being able to pay rent and buy food and pay bills.

I work same place as you (or did I should say). I think we are going to have a hard time finding equal pay. Are you sticking with the Q for now? I am curious to see exactly what that first paycheck looks like, though I guess nothing has changed yet. I spoke to the Q HR person today. She seemed to think it could take a "substantial time period" to convert over. Let hope they are really, really slow! Good Luck!

MQ before. My CCMs were also super nice and willing to work with me when I needed a schedule change, etc., but the last week I was there out of a 30-hour scheduled week, there was only enough work for me to get 9 hours that week. So, for now, I'm just holding my breath and hanging on. Hope things work out for you, too.

If the Q reduces wages again, you can bet the other companies will follow. Soooo glad I am close to retirement. Social Security and a PT job at WalMart. Ahhh, sweet stress-free living.

This MT gig was great when I started in the early 70's, but even though I have tried to roll with the punches, I just can't take another gut shot.

I am doing some side work transcribing a research interview, and was wondering your opinions. One of the respondents in the interview panel is ESL. Her grammar is very often incorrect. I asked them when I got the project if they wanted the transcription verbatim, and she said "yes, let's leave it true to form."
