Transcend interview coming up - nightowl

I have an interview with Transend on Friday. Does anyone know much about this company? I am currently emplloyed with another large transcription service, but looking for a job with more typing because I seem to make more money if I am typing rather than editing. Any input, good or bad, would be greatly appreciated :)

Personally, having worked there, I wouldn't recommend them. But a lot of specific information can be found in previous posts here if you do a search.

I refused a job with Transcend. Before you make your decision, you will want to research this company very carefully. Good luck to you.

If you are looking for more typing work, or more work in general, be very careful with Transcend. They deliberately overhire, and this time of year they have a slowdown on workloads anyway across the board. It is mostly voice rec anyway. I hear SoftScript is 100% straight typing, so that might be better. Good luck.

thanks to all. Its scary -- do I leave a job that isn't too bad, just 90% SR, or take a chance at another place and get screwed! I will definitely think this over very carefully, probably going to stay where I'm at.

All of the advice you have been given is good, and if I were you I would stay where you are. Transcend is exactly as picture on this board. I am ex-Transcend too, and they are as bad as pictured, if not worse!!

They overhire, expect work to be done within a 1-hour turnaround time and if not send tons of e-mails for help until the system is clear of work. It is awful. They overhire so they do not have to pay out benefits.

The only good thing I can personally say about Transcend is they pay on time. Read very carefully what other posters are saying, as they are not fabricating any of the info they are giving you. If you need to MAKE a living keep your present job and look elsewhere if you need another job. Working for Transcend is a prescription for DISASTER, mentally, finacially, etc. Good luck to you - you will no doubt need it if you work for this company. I am also a former employee.

I have posted on here many times about putting in requests to have doctors removed from ASR and have been told it doesn't do any good. Apparently some people are listening. I was told that they are flooded with requests now and it is taking a little longer to get to my requests reviewed. I was looking over already transcribed reports by others to check on a medication and came across a mistake that really makes us look foolish and is something, IMHO, that any transcriptionist would know and this doctor speaks good English. ok, I have been offered a secretarial job but it is with a new company so I am iffy on whether the comany will make it. apparently I was only employed by Nuance thru last December. Starting in January I was employed by Transcend. This is as per the state unemployment benefits office. They were really interested that my check stubs said Transcend/DBA as Nuance out of Mass., and the W2s only had Transcend out of Melbourne, Florida.
