Question for TransTech FT Employees... - curious

Can I get feedback from any full-time employees at TransTech as to if you are able to get your 40 hours in. Do you run out of work often? How are benefits? Thanks!

Yeah, I can. I have 3 accounts, but the most I've typed on my 3rd account is 4 hours to 6 hours a week. I might have to type on my secondary account on the weekend. With the 3 accounts, the longest I've been out of work is 15 minutes. I work 2nd shift, so that may make a difference - docs do more of their dictation at night. Benefits okay - better since merger with iMedX.

I agree with everything that gonesoon said except I work first shift. I personally have not seen any workflow changes since the merger. I enjoy working for TT. They leave me alone and let me work, and our QA is outstanding. Good luck!

Had 5 accounts and all VR, bad dictators, and no work. This was before merger, so glad to see things got better in twos. Although you had to be a fav to survive before the merger. The sups would assign the good work to their senior partners.

Have no idea what my quality score is. Been here over 2 years. Guess it's good enough- they haven't let me go.

Change in Work Flow - TT Employee

I've been with the company for over a year, and the account I work on used to overflow on a daily basis to the point where there were times we couldn't keep up TAT, even though bonus was being offered on a daily basis. They lost my backup account, and I never needed another one because of so much work on my primary... In the past couple of weeks or so, however, we've been running out of work almost every day. So I've been getting in less than 40 hours a week. They're blaming it on vacations and kids being out of school, but I'm pretty sure that all of the dictators aren't taking vacations at the same time, and lots of people schedule their appointments when they're out of school, work, etc. I guess we'll find out for sure if things change in the next month or so if I'm still there.

Used to have plenty of work also and told to work over for TAT. Merger might be that they offshore...you only know if hundreds of reports are all of a sudden gone by midnight. But when low work load comes and excuses for vacation....watch out. Only then will you be given a QA report and then things that were never wrong are wrong.

Is anyone having trouble meeting their quota? Even with enough work available, I cannot reach my required lines per shift. It's a combo of speech (75%) and non-speech (25%). The dictators are fairly decent and the speech engine seems well trained. I'm just wondering if the issue might not be my capability so much as the line-counting feature they use. ...

I was just curious about what employees thought of Nuance on Glassdoor. You read several US employee opinions and they reflect the morale listed on MTStars. Scroll further down and read the opinions of the transcriptionists from India. What a difference. They are highly satisfied with their jobs and most have been working with Nuance for 6 to 7 years. The US transcriptionists are very sad!! What a difference..... ...

sort of things you're getting QA'd for, to compare notes. For instance, I'm new to VS, and I tend to leave in double words. I think what's happening is that I hear it, so my mind just blocks out the extra one and I don't see it. Someone jumps on this board, fires it all up by saying to use F11 for every ASR job, and then calls their CCM to say "read the MTstars board" and then they go check who is doing it and fires them, all the while the pot-stirrer looks all cutsie in the CCMs eyes and more work opens up for the pot-stirrer?Maybe it is my wild imagination, but it seems like all that "stop typing for a day" and if that does not work, then "stop typing for 2 days," and "use F11 for all ASR jobs," all feels so not ...

Hi there fellow TT MTs:) Do any of you ever have trouble with QA at TT. Lately, I have been afraid to send anything in for correction, particularly 1 person, who dissects my reports down to crossing my Ts and dotting my Is. I know she is probably just doing her job well, and I know being in QA is a hard job, but this is getting depressing. I am not a newbie by any means, and I know my job well. I started a new thread because I noticed your question about TransTech waaaay down at the bottom of the page and with no responses yet, so here goes... In my personal experience, nothing has changed from the older posts. Even today, I have 4 accounts and I'm currently waiting for work to come into my queue. Usually there are lots of posts here about TT. Just wondering what is going on now. I was hired and supposed to start work there, but could not work with satellite. For some reason, the EditScript would not come up. So I got rid of satellite and had Verizon Wireless installed. So far this is working pretty good. Much better than satellite -- knock on wood.
