I have not received a pay cut. I have been there 18 months and have not yet been able to get the 80 hours per pay period for benefits due to constantly out of work. I really like the company. I like the people. I find them to be helpful with questions/issues. Pay is always on time. Phone calls and e-mails already returned. My only issue is not being able to achieve the required 80 hours. I think they are one of the better companies out there.

Just curious. How can you consider this one of the better companies if you are unable to get 80 hours in 2 weeks in order to get their benefits due to lack of work? You say that you are constantly out of work.

IMHO, this puts a company on my list for being a crappy company. Their management style is keeping your income at less than full time and you are not getting benefits because of this, which they obviously would include IF they had available work.

I also got a 1 cpl pay cut. When I worked this past Saturday I made $2.00 less an hour than I would have on Friday before the pay cut. That is going to add up really quick. I was told it was company wide, even management, so I don't understand why some of you have not received a pay cut yet. This is supposed to be a temporary pay cut----I guess time will tell. Needless to say I am already looking to get out of the MT business.
It is never temporary. Getting out of MT won't solve this. Other careers are seeing the same - TiredMT

I have heard of 15 and 20% cuts in other industries, even more in some. My husband is in construction, 20 years with the same company, union job, and has only worked a few days here and there over the past 3 years. This is really discouraging.

I work for 2 companies and both have had pay cuts in the last few months. I just started with a new company to have a better schedule and more work. I am sure they will cut pay too.

Hard to make a living anywhere anymore. We are barely making our bills as it is.

Which is not the same thing as temporary, at least not to me. I know other MTs who have had no pay cut. It is clear to me that they just want to get rid of me.

What part of MedScribe do you work for, typing or VR? I do VR, and we have not had a paycut yet or at least I have not. We had a couple of slow weeks, but we have been pretty busy the last couple of weeks. I think it depends the account(s) you are assigned to. I love working there too. I did. Others I know did not. There are still some high cpl people who have been spared. So they absolutely are not truthful when C & C say "we are all in this together." Mgmt was probably cut $10 a pay period....

How were you informed of the pay cut. I may have spoken too soon when I said I did not. I just received an e-mail about a conference call between my supervisor, human resources person and myself about changes being made. Since I cross 2nd and 3rd shift, I missed the call, so I won't be able to find out what it is all about until tomorrow.

OK. Just had my conference call and it was about the 1 cpl reduction. I truly believe it is a temporary measure based on the reduction/loss of work by 2 major accounts. I have no reason not to doubt the temporary nature. They have always been above board and straightforward with me and I was impressed that this was handled in a personal call. I really like the company and the people, so it's a no brainer for me to hang in there.

Anyone know what is going on with Medscribe?  There has been little to no work for weeks now with promises of more work coming in. I know they have lost a few accounts but even the accounts still there seem to be dictating a lot less than what they normally do so I wonder if they are headed on their way out too.  Today I heard a rumor they might be sending work to another company to handle overflow and that is why the work has dried up.  Has anyone else heard this? I can't be ...

Archives are divided -- half happy and treated well and doing the work they expected to do, paid on time, good benefits.    Other half got jerked around a bit, given different kinds of work than expected, said line counts are incorrect, missed a couple of paychecks (which is strange since they do direct deposit - maybe they didn't back then.)  Thanks. ...

This company was on my list of companies to apply to because of positive comments posted here. I just went to their website to start the process, and this is listed under "Employee Benefits:" Taxes paid -- employer portion   It is right there in the midst of vision, dental, health insurance, etc.! EXCUSE ME, but they are REQUIRED to pay those taxes so how is that an "employee benefit?!"  The other HUGE RED FLAG for me is that they use the crappiest platform on the planet, ChartNe ...
