How do we keep track of time. Had report showing less than 15 seconds to complete which is not right. Actually took 20 minutes. Been told not paying for time other than actual typing. What about time uploading report. That takes minutes sometimes.

You might want to ask someone for help because I have no problem using the feature on our platform to count my type time and they always show up correctly for typing time. Why are you waiting for a report to upload before starting another? I was never told we had to do this. I just keep going and periodically check my reports throughout the day to make sure the number matches what I have written down.

Yes. Such as your time recorded on paper was 30 minutes. Their time shows only 20 seconds.

So what you're saying is the dictate time on the job was 20 seconds but it took 30 minutes to complete? Does the 30 minutes include the time from download to your system until it's uploaded? If so, the system will show 30 minutes. (I'm assuming that would include typing, researching, checking account specs, logging, etc. - everything that goes into completing a job.) If however, the system time from download to your system, typing, then upload to theirs is 20 seconds (which the system will show as 20 seconds), but you're putting 30 minutes on the timesheet, that might be questionable (unless there is no work and then that would need to be documented and would explain the 30 minutes extra.)

Actually, this just happened to me. I did a dictation that was 8 minutes long. it took me 30 minutes to type and send back, but when the system lists my actual typing time it says 18 seconds. I think it is some kind of system glitch. Second time this happened this week, but I doubt it will be a problem, as they can see that it would not only take 18 seconds to type an 8-minute report.

Yes, it is the actual typing time column and not the TAT column. Not too worried though, like I said. Probably a glitch of some sort.

When we had to estimate our time from the beginning of this month, I found several jobs that had this issue. If we add this lost time back in with the total typing time for the period is this going to cause issues? If this is a glitch, is it happening to our line count too?

Did the client program crash at any point during typing or submitting, or you rebooted during that report? I had this happen and it seemed to only count from the time when I had reopened the file.

I just wish they would finally do something about the cherry picking. Now that there is a line average and minimum hours requirement, it is more than frustrating to see ESL and short reports skipped over for something both long and easy. I guess these days I should be impressed if there are any reports to do at all.

I have an odd question. If a US trained Medical Transcriptionist works from home (in the U.S.), but then decides to spend 1/2 the year (or more) in a foreign country, is it possible (ethical/legal) to continue working as an MT while in that country? The MT would keep the US address, and bank account. All paychecks would continue to be direct deposited into current U.S. bank account. MT would continue to pay U.S. taxes on all monies earned. I know I am not the only one working 2 jobs or more. Between them I am scheduled 68 hours per week. I have them spread out enough I have "long breaks" in between to fix supper, take a little me time out around the lunch hour and housework kind of gets slighted.
