No one answers my emails when I ask why my accounts have no work. It's been going on for a very long time, but so much worse now.  I thought a new account was going ot start, but I haven't heard a word about it.  Is something going on that I don't know about?  I realize they were going to be switching to more SR and MTs weren't all that happy about it (my own pay will be 1.5 CPL lower and only 4CPL for SR work), but what happened?

I absolutely hate coming to a random board to air my dirty laundry about a company, but when not a word is sent out by said company, what are you to do?  This company seemed ideal when I first started working for them, but I don't know what's happening now.  I used to get friendly emails and updates, now hardly anything short of an occasional work update that never has any of my accounts listed.

Anyone else?  Time for a new IC job?

Don't feel bad, because nobody at Oracle ever responds to my emails either. They are very quick to email if you've made a mistake, or if they need extra help on an account for some reason. But whenever I have emailed about why my accounts are so low or asking for another account and more work, it seems like my email goes into the Great Abyss and never gets answered.

The daily account update emails seem to be getting sporadic too. They used to come regularly, like clockwork, but sometimes now there may be none at all, especially on the weekends. My feeling is that when we're not getting regular account updates, it's probably because the work load is so low across the board on all accounts.

They are switching over to SR, so maybe that is where all of the work is going. Or maybe they have over hired their new MTs at 7 to 8 cpl and are trying to squeeze out all of us older MTs who are being paid a higher line rate than that. Or maybe it's a combination of the two. All I know is that I consistently run out of work on my accounts and lately it seems that my accounts are running out of work a lot quicker than they ever used to.

Oracle used to be a really great company and I have really enjoyed my time working for them. But lately, it seems that the writing is on the wall and it's probably time for me to move on.

Anyway, I guess that I really don't have any answers to your questions, just speculations, but I just wanted to let you know that you are definitely not alone. You are welcome to email me if you want a fellow OTI MT to commiserate with off the board.

As above, you are not alone. I've been there for over 10 years and it used to be really great. They would offer extra incentives if accounts got backed up. They are probably one of the MTSO's about whom was never posted here until lately. I've had my primary account disappear to who knows where, and when I ask, I get no reply. Even though I've been there a while, I probably don't make any more than new hires. I think it is really sad they keep hiring when so many of sit here punching the computer for eight hours, hoping something will pop up. I don't know what the "new account" is that is supposed to be starting, but I was not offered it. I don't know what to tell you, either, but I think I am going to put out feelers, even though I am older and I know that will be held against me (even though it is illegal to do so). Sending prayers.

Of course, that didn't help anything because the owner herself told me things that were so not true. Never had work, so I moved on.

I really don't know, but it seems to me that I remember seeing somewhere that OTI's owner is a man.

I have worked for them for several years. Communication has gone WAY downhill and so has their ability to care about the "lowly" MT. All they care about anymore is money. The MT's interests no longer even enter their minds.

I live in Chicago Illinois.  Like many of you, I am production but get payed so little a line even making 160 lines an hour I make minimum wage for my "state" which is currently $8.25 (pretty sad).  Anyway, Chicago is hiking the minum wage on July 1st to $10 an hour.  As I live in Chicago, does anyone know if this pertains to me?   Thanks in advance for answering!  ...
