Like you, 99.99999% of my work is editing. With SH (I believe with IT also), you can program editing commands. What you can and cannot program depends on your software, but for me, the F5 key will jump to the next comma, change it to a period and cap the next word. Another command will jump to the next period, change to a comma...you get the picture. It has been especially handy in cleaning up those messed up numbered lists.
It IS time comsuming to tailor these commands, but I think it is worth it. Both SH and IT offer a 30-day(?) trial, and there is a slew of info/commands online.
