Why are we afraid of our government? - over it

We all better stand up for something or we are all going to fall for anything. Our government should be afraid of US, not the other way around. What business does HIPAA and Homeland Security have with our offshore counterparts? Are those "employees" subject to the same "requests" for invasion of their privacy? Come on people, I know you're out there, what gives?
