Unfortunately not against the law for telecommuters - Federal law

Posted: Feb 24th, 2017 - 2:17 pm In Reply to: Warning to MTs - Disgusted

I researched this extensively. Federal law considers telecommuters to have the freedom to do other things (such as cleaning house, doing laundry) while waiting for jobs, so they technically are not "on the job," and thus, do not have to paid for that time. Inhouse workers do not have that freedom, so must be paid for that time while in house. I researched my state's labor laws and could not counter to the federal law.
