I received a statement from BCBS the other day stating I owe the doctor XYZ. I then received a statement yesterday from the doctor stating I owe XYZ plus $20 for a "statement fee." Has anyone ever seen this before? I'm tempted to mail a copy of the BCBS statement with the XYZ amount circled and remit a check with that amount, not with the $20 added in. I find this unbelievable. Anyone else?
