There are also very few decent on-site jobs left anymore, either, mainly because most of them are only using their current on-site MTs to "train" their new software in order to go MT-free in the very near future. MTSO's are greedy, unethical, dishonest, and pay so poorly that you're better off living on welfare than working for an MTSO. Many full-time MT's qualify for food stamps, are in foreclosure of their homes, and some are even homeless, working from their car.
Regardless of what the school you went to, or some job website claims, MT is probably the WORST profession a person could possibly get into at this point in time.
My very best advice is to stop considering MT as a viable source of employment. Anything, yes even Walmart, is a more lucrative and reliable source of income than medical transcription.
