I was hired as a transcriptionist at an orthopedic clinic. We transitioned to EMR and most of the docs wanted to do Voice Recognition (dragon). They got tired of doing the computer while seeing 50+ patients a day so asked for scribes. Some of the older doctors never even learned the system. I was TOLD to go scribe and I loved it. It's nothing to go to school for. It's just listening to doctor and patient and typing it in while it's being said. Excellent grammar and medical language skills are definitely needed.
